Brazilian Waxing 101

Brazilian waxes were introduced in the early 1990s and have been climbing the ladder to popularity ever since. Today brazilian waxes are the top choice in North America to remove unwanted pubic hair. Although to some it may seem scary or strange, it’s a safe and effective treatment that provides the perfect option to get rid of any unwanted hair.

At Dulce Beauty, with our brazilians waxes, we are committed to making sure you not only leave looking and feeling amazing but feel safe and comfortable your entire visit. We believe that along with the results, the experience matters too. In addition to being safe and accessible, our studio carries top of the line luxury wax for better results. Our luxury hard wax leaves less in-grown hairs, less irritation, and slows hair growth so you can come in less frequently to get waxed.

WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN WAX?

A brazilian wax is the removal, grooming, and trimming around your pubic hair. Wax is applied to the area and removed in the opposite direction as the follicle growth (taking the hair with it). Compared to a bikini wax where the hair is only removed from the sides (bikini line), brazilian’s remove hair from the entire pelvic area including between the cheeks. With a brazilian wax, you have the option to leave however much hair behind that you choose. Many people opt to leave hair behind in the form of a triangle or a landing strip.

At Dulce, we use luxury hard wax. Hard wax, compared to strip wax, shrink wraps around the hair and does not adhere to the skin which ensures less hair breakage and makes the process less painful. Because we use this luxury hard wax our treatments leave behind less in-grown hairs and less irritations. Waxes from Dulce will also last much longer so you can come in less frequently.

TIPS

Beforehand:

  • Avoid caffeine before your appointment. The more calm you are, the easier the appointment will be.

  • Avoid alcohol before your appointment. Alcohol can make your skin more sensitive.

  • Don’t shave in between your appointments. Shaving will allow the hair root to grow strong and make waxing more painful.

  • Wear loose-fitting clothes, preferably soft cotton clothes on the day of your appointment.

  • Take an Advil or Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment to ease the pain.

During:

  • Listen to your waxer! During your wax, Dulce Beauty experts will tell you to breathe in when the wax is being applied and breathe out when they take it off. This makes the pain much more bearable.

After:

  • Avoid swimming immediately after your appointment

  • Avoid sunbathing/heat as much as possible immediately after your appointments

  • Avoid saunas and steam rooms immediately after your appointment

  • Avoid spray tanning immediately after your appointment

  • Wear looser fitting clothes home from your appointment

  • Choose your skincare carefully after your appointment and avoid products with lots of chemicals or fragrances

ETIQUETTE

Though we can assure you waxing with Dulce will be a great experience, we also understand that it’s an experience most women are uncomfortable with especially, if it’s their first time.

Throughout the service, Dulce Beauty experts remain highly considerate of your experience and we try our best to make you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Make sure you let us know if you are having any concerns so we can make time for you to ask any questions before and after. During your appointment all you have to focus on is staying as relaxed, breathing when we tell you, and letting us know if you want to leave some hair behind, and if so what shape or design you want it to be in.

We are available to you after your appointment as well to answer any questions you may have about caring for the waxed area. Adverse reactions from Dulce Beauty waxes are uncommon but we are here to support you in the rare chance that something does arise.
