WAXING

Best Brazilian Waxes in Vancouver, BC

Whether you’re smooth savvy or a wax newbie, we’re here to make you look and feel amazing. There’s nothing we haven’t seen before, and nothing we won’t do to make your visit comfortable and fun. Our studio wax bar carries top of the line luxury wax to ensure a smooth transition from freshly waxed to beautifully maintained.

We use luxury hard wax to ensure a smoother experience. Hard wax shrink wraps around the hair and does not adhere to the skin which ensures less breakage and reduces the pain. Waxes from Dulce leave less in-grown hairs, less irritation, and slower hair growth so you can come in less frequently to get waxed.

*At this time the esthetician is only trained in waxing vulvas (AFAB)*

OUR WAXING STANDARDS:

We uphold the highest levels of hygiene in all aspects of the experience. We would NEVER double dip our spatulas into the wax pot. We use disposable gloves, sterilized tweezers and our treatment rooms are sparkling clean. Visit our COVID-19 page for more information on our virus related cleanliness standards.

Waxing F.A.Q's

Can I come to my appointment if I am on my period?

  • Absolutely. We have fresh wipes and tampons on site for this reason. If you’re comfortable being waxed at this time, we are comfortable waxing you.

What if I have ingrown hairs?

  •  When you book your appointment, mention ingrown concerns to allow more time for extractions. In between appointments, don’t pick at ingrown hairs. If you squeeze these ingrowns it could make them more inflamed, infect the surrounding pores, and slow the healing process.

Can I exercise after my wax?

  • Don’t do excessive activity immediately after appointment (hot yoga, bike rides, hot tubs, etc). Your sweat could be mildly irritating to the area and the friction from the movement could result in prolonged redness and breakouts. If you do exercise - shower immediately after to keep follicles clear and bacteria free (or use a baby wipe in a pinch).

Can I put on lotions after my wax?

  • Don’t apply lotions, gels or creams (especially fragranced and alcohol based products) to the waxed area on the same day as your appointment.

Can I sunbathe after my wax?

  • Don’t sunbathe for at least 24 hours BEFORE AND AFTER wax. This may dehydrate the skin prior to treatment and cause skin to lift. After treatment, with increased circulation, sun exposure may increase heat sensitivity and cause discomfort.

Should I shave in between my waxes?

  • Don’t shave between treatments. The goal of consistent hair removal through wax is to remove the root of the hair so it grows back softer, finer, and fewer in number. Shaving will upset appointment times allowing the root to grow strong and making waxing more painful.

How do I take care of the area in between my waxes?

  • Daily exfoliation is the best way to care for the treated area in between waxes. You may choose to use a salt/sugar scrub or also try a simple exfoliating glove or natural loofah sponge either dry or wet with a gentle shower gel. For more advanced exfoliating treatment for ingrowns we can develop a regiment together accordingly for your skin type during your appointment.

Can I have sex after my brazillian wax?

  • The area may be slightly inflamed and irritated for 2-24 hours afterwards, so it is best to avoid skin on skin friction until the next day.  If you do chose to have sex - use lubricant to prevent further irritation and provide a barrier.

Why is it uncomfortable to pee after my wax?

  • Urine can cause discomfort to open follicles after wax especially if you are sensitive. Drink plenty of water to dilute the urine to make the process easier.

What can I do to make the area feel better after my wax?

  •  Apply a cold compress to the area if you find your skin is sensitive or inflamed after treatment. Cooling will help to relieve discomfort.

How often should I book a wax?

  • Book your wax appointments 3-6 weeks apart. The hair grows in multiple cycles so in order to get ideal results we need to weaken each stage by removing new growth as it comes through while it's in it’s softest stage. If you wait longer than 3-6 weeks the hair grows strong again and will be more difficult to wax.
